I have heard about keeping mirror will increase the colour of fishes esp. the agressive ones.
Wanted to know about the effects on flowerhorn. Is that good to keep ?
If so, keeping mirror permanently will have negative effect?

My FH is always dark even though he eats comfortably and he is nearly about 3 weeks in the new tank.
I just kept a mirror for sometime to see.. interestingly darkness vanished in seconds.
I will attach the pics before and after.

In my experience...Mirrors every now and then. It puts a lot of stress on my fish. Good for fighting color. Not too good for health.

here and there you flash his reflection as an intruder to his home to piss him off to get his juices flowin. Dont do it 24/7.

Reflection fighting 24-7 can do more harm than good...can stress them out, or in some cases make fish lose interest in defending territory because they can never get to the intruder. Like the others said, do it occasionally when you want to fire him up.

My Red KK started to display to his reflection in the mirror and then after about a minute he started to dart around the tank looking stressed out. I not going to be subjecting him to a mirror again for a long time.
