Would it stress out my flowerhorn if i put a mirror in his tank? he seems to colour up when i put a mirror near him.

Also would this cause his Kok to shrink?

My guess is it'll prob drive him crazy and he'll end up smashing the glass or die trying , just my thoughts though

Some get stressed with a prolonged use of a mirror in one "session", some as in my case do try to show dominance and after a while just lose interest and swim around like its not even there.

Try using the mirror for 5-10 mins a day. I'd does improve the color and kok if its in their genes. Stressing it as you've mentioned will have the opposite effect.

The mirror thing really sets off a betta, never tried it with a large cichlid. Could be interesting to see what happens.

Always heard this tale and wondered whether it's true, guess it is from the above replies.

A before and after picture would be fantastic if he does react to it

I use mirror always like 10-15min like 4 Times a week He makes them mad but helps kok out I use it on flowerhorn n red texas

True, but the betta's bite doesn't hurt nearly as much. I used to have a 15 inch jag/dovii cross. His bites could be pretty vicous at times, depending on how mad he was. I prefer large cichlids, but can't have a big tank in my closet sized office. That's why I have a betta in the office instead of a monster. I have to keep the big ones at home.
