Mirror in the tank

I sometimes put a small mirror on the glass for about 5 minutes or so. The Kamfa does his little ticked off dance in the water and then charges the pleco who is the closest where he can act tough to.

I have heard that doing this will help the kok grow... Is this true..
 
I dont know for sure but i know it boosts their confidence and makes the fish feel better over all. I saw better coloration and larger KOK when i did this to one of my FH's and when i sold him and he was stressed i saw colors and KOK size go down. My thoughts are happy confident fish means better looks including colors and KOK growth.

If your fish has genes for a big kok, making it feel like a more dominant fish will promote the kok growth, just don't overdo it with the mirror to the point that it's stressed, will have the opposite effect.

Just five minutes a day... He's only 4 inches and when he see's himself it looks like he's gonna bust outta the 55G tank... lol ... I don't know if he has Big KOK Genes yet...
