So how true is the mirror test to sex Umbee? Cause I cant tell when I put the mirror, how black does the dorsal fin get? Mine seem to all have dark heads, they are all about 3 to 3.5 inches. Does the whole dorsal fin turn dark or just close to the body. Any other signs to look for when sexing at this size pleeeease let me know cause I have 25 and want to start selling some but want to know what im getting rid of. Thanks

I've tried the mirror once just to get some personality out of the fish but never to sex them. Best bet is to post pics and let them do their thing. You will have a dominant male and female lead the pack and pair off. If you want to sex them then you'll have to vent at that size. Plus watch the group interact and you should be able to get some good ideas thru behavior
