Hey,

Is anyone in the same situation as me. I'm currently at university in another country and i have fish at home. AND I MISS THEM! My mums been taking care of them for me and i can't wait to see them again.

I have two snakeheads a rainbow and a cobra. Some of you may know that i only just recently got this cobra. When i left he was still settling in and kinda scared of people. When ever i walked in the room now he'd hide behind some plants. But apparently now he's insane. My mum put some frozen blood worms, the blood worms i get are from japan and come pre paged in small cubes about 2 cm x 2 cm x 2cm. and he ate the WHOLE thing in one gulp. When i got him he was about 4 inches and when i left he was abt 4.5 i wonder how big he is now. I wish my mum knew how to take fotos of it. Oh well. I'll just have to wait till xmas. I can't wait!

im in the same position as you - moved across the country to go to grad school for a year and have my dad taking care of my big fw tanks -- i moved out my 90 gal reef tank which was something i never want to do again! this site is my haven when i miss my big predators --

plus it didnt last long for me to only keep one tank - i set up a 40 fw tank that i brought out as a sump and didnt use, got some small dats and birchir -- i feel for you its hard to leave your loved ones behind, and by that i mean you fish!

Afraid I might be in the same situation as you guys soon. Either moving out of the house to an apartment next year, or going out to barcelona, spain as an exchange student for a year :headbang2 . So that leaves my mum to take care of the fish for a full year. :(

When I was in college I had to leave all my pets behind. Not just fish but cats, turtle and my salamander. I hated it. I did have a small tank in college though and that helped.

I'm with ya. Always gave my fish away to the most worthy person I could find when I went to college or when I moved. It's tough parting with fish like blue eyed plecos, chinese loaches & batches of rainbows!

chances are your cobra may have gobbled your bleheri by the time yu get back, depending on how long that is.

sqratch - I seem to remember you're in my town now. Nowhere near here with channas, but I know a place that could deliver you a bleheri, gachua or micropeltes if you can setup a tank where you live now.

Rumblesushi, i might be getting a tank soon i'm just looking out for cheap deals and things like that, if you know any in the area please let me know.

I also left behind my three dogs, and my tank of discus. I am aching to get home. WHen i see pictures of channa here on the site, it makes me wanna see my fish even more. But it helps a little. If you have pictures of you chanan PLEASE POST THEM!
