I moved my two clown loaches into the 55 gallon today, both were swimming around, came out to eat and everything. I went back in the room a few hours later to check on them and the other is missing. None of my other fish are big enough to eat them, i dug out all plants, all rocks, everything and I cannot find it. I looked all around the tank, in the filter, everything.

Is this common for them to just disappear?
or what...
It has me all worried and it had me second guessing if I had moved it into the tank, but I know I did. I put them both together in a big bowl and moved them in there together from room to room.

I feel crazy and disappointed! I want my clown back ):

Wow, how strange. Try checking the other loaches stomach! >.< sorry to joke around especially when your stressed. Just give it a day or two. If not maybe it is a hopper?

I found it! finally. I went through and moved everything around again and was moving the gravel just to see if it had dug down in and got stuck and found it stuck in an ornament my lacefin catfish loves to hide in.

It's color is definitely lighter and it had been hiding in the corner with the other loach but I just fed the tank and they both are out eating. So hopefully he isn't hurt or anything too bad, even though he probably came through all of it a little stressed feeling. Only way to get him out of the tiny little hole that he was very, very stuck in was to basically use suction from lifting it out of the water and putting it back in. But he's alive so that is what matters.
