Missing Eel Tailed

Well i lost my 2 eel tailed catfish :S
i dont think it was any of my fish ( saratoga leichardti and a baramundi )
so i got down to two different conclusions,
either they jumped out and my cats took them off an ate them ( cus i accidently dropped one of the lids for the tank not too long ago)
or considering i just added sand, they could be under it, but i dont really wanna go rummaging through it so was just asking if use have experienced eel tailed cats burrying under sand,

not that i know of mate but any of ya fish could eat it

just poke round in the sand with a clean stick if ya bump they'll move

nah im pretty possitive that 1 is gone cus i found one in my plant, i dont think any of my fish could eat it as there all pretty much exactly the same size
and none are agressive to each other one little bit
