When p are juvenile they have a lot of blind fury and aggression, they will nip at eachother untill they teenagers 4-5", there are a few things u can try to do to lower aggression and these are things that helped my shaol as well:
Lower temp 75-77°
Lower lite one bulb or use bw extract
Make sure they have a CONSTANT supply of food (throw a piece of talapia in everyday when u goto work come back get it out throw in some pellets repeat every day so they have some protein to nibble)
Adequate hidding spot (plants dw etc)
All these factors combined will lower aggression (however u can't get rid of it, its in their dna to act the way they do)
These are piranhas so get used to their bloodthirsty personalities!

yea temp is at 76. might have to drop it some more.lights were off while i was away.had some guppies in there but will have to put many more in there next time.it really is'nt un expected.just a little bit of a downer.have feed them 3 differant times today.small pieces and small feedings.they are agressive little guys
Light being off is probably worse than having them on. Tank looks nice but way too big for 1" babies imo. Being so small in big tank makes it harder for them to find the food your offering,& wastes more food. Aggression isn't always about food though either. Gl with your group.
Good to hear man, glad everything is working out! You'll see when they become territorial just how bad aggression can be but once they resolve the pecking order things will mellow down, just keep an eye (no pun intended lol) on their bodies, fins will get nipped but flesh wounds require IMMEDIATE quarintine or else they will finish of the injured fish. Remember piranhas dont kill the strong ones, they pick off the weak guys with sickness or injury 1st, any little sign will throw the shoal into murder mode! enjoy them my friend! Congrats

were down 2 fish found a skull today when doing water change.funny thing is the one missing an eye is still in there.they all looked good yesterday dont know why they ate one.there is always a hunk of fish hanging from a string.replaced every day.i feed them their usuall piece of northern this morning and also fed them ground up krill twice today
2 more? Maybe throw a school of tetras in so u can try and save more of the p's! I like the tank a lot, great shape!

started with ten down to 8.anything small and fast? there are some guppies left.but i'd bet there getting good at hiding.thanks
the piranha was probably outnumbered by the feeders. It can happen with other animals too. Make sure you have a reasonable amount of feeders
