ok,so i put a 2" chocolate pleco in my tank and my xingu 1 tried eating it,and removed one of the plec's eyes.....can the plec live with one eye or should i euthanise it to prevent it hiding and rotting when it does die?
Thanks LMBB

I have a Adonis pleco that recently got attacked by another fish in my tank(not sure which one) and is now missing BOTH eyes. I was getting ready euthanise him but decided to wait a day or so and now he is eating great and his wounds are healing. I feel kind of bad for him but I think I'll wait to see how he does.

Anyhow, sorry for rambling, your pleco will be just fine with one eye;)
You should probably separate them though.

They will be fine without an eye. jc, I'm pretty sure it will do fine with no eyes, i don't believe they have the best of eyesight anyway, but it would probably be best to seperate the bully from him. Would have no problem finding food without sight

My common is down to one eye and you would never even know it unless you really look close. He acts normal and finds food with out it LOL he has no issues and it healed up nice before I even noticed it.

I am sorry to hear your Adonis suffered this misfortune but glad that he is doing okay regardless and hope that continues..
