So I'm eating my cereal in front of the TV this AM and I'm sensing a funny feeling I've had for the past week. Not sure why or what but I'm missing something or forgetting something. It doesn't seem urgent so I'm thinking to myself that eventually I will figure it out.

Inside info: Last 2 weeks ago I changed the substrate in my tank. I bought it from Skimpton. My tank was hazy/cloudy for 3 or 4 days and I must say that I'm pretty happy with the way it looks.

I have a regular JD (female I think, about 2.5 " ) in there. The Jd is growing faster than all my other fish but still smaller than my 4 frontosa's. Sometime last week my JD hit this tremendous growth spurt. From everything I've read on the board this is normal. So what happened? Well, I figured it out today. SHE ATE A FISH THAT I WAS NEARLY HER SIZE!!! No bones or anything left behind. Holy Cr@p!! :WHOA:

I nee to update my fish list...

Has this happened to you?

A marbled goby ate a lmbass almost it's size right after I got it, the bass was so big the goby had the tail sticking out of it's mouth for hours.

A while back I was keeping three juvenile S.A. Redtail Catfish for a friend. One afternoon, I found one of them with another in it's mouth. Over half of it's body was inside the other's mouth. I had to reach in the aquarium and slap the one with the fish in it's mouth. He released him, thankfully. It was insane, because they were all the same size (4").

has never happened to me yet but my friends oscar ate his other oscar that was pretty near the same size as he was

It’s a blessing in disguise I guess. I went looking for another one and the lfs has a larger one and 2 females with it! I'm picking them up today! Getting rid of the JD for now and will buy one when the BJD's are bigger and have their own tank.

I had a broodling of bolivian rams in a 20 gal with a killifish in it, the golden ones they look so innocent, anyways over time the brood got smaller and smaller until I realized that I only had about half of what I started out with...the damn killifish was eating them!! Now I know why they call em kill-i-fish (corny joke)...

i have a 10 s.o.b. in a 75 gal. hes by himself cause he eats everything. even an arrowana when they were abou 6 inch. but i love that damn fish. he makes me laugh. i put my hand in the tank and he start to rub on it like a cat would do to your leg. he then lets me grab his tail and hokd on. he dosent even struggle. i have never seen something like that b4. hi name is minnow.
