my small silver arowana has some scales missing, and i am assuming it is from my oscars picking on it, there wasnt any problems, but now am getting slightly concerned. Will the scales gro back? what should i do?

thanks

johnny

the scales should grow back however if the oscars are picking on it then chances are they won't stop. how big are all the fish in your tank? I ask because the aro and clown knife will definitely outgrow a 75 gallon as will the tinfoils simply because of how active they are. as the fish start getting bigger, the territorial oscars will start needing more space and that could be why they're starting to pick on the other fish in the tank. :)

use Melafix works wonders on fish.......my silver and jard aroz got into it, seperated them...threw in some Melafix, in about a week there scales were repaired. Like someone said in an earlier post the color takes a little more time

yea, the scales will grow back no problem, but again..the color will take some time

I would also put some aquarium salt in the tank to help the stress. The scales will grow back in time.

Yeah scales grow back but the color takes longer just like everybody else says.

yup they'll grow back
