Hey guys i bought a stingray about 2 months ago, first few days he was swimming around and sliding up the tank but after a few days he just disappeared, havent seen him since. My friend said they good hide under sand/gravel months after months without being seen. i thought about checking under the gravel but i dont wanna hurt him if he is hiding. Any info would be great. Oh btw he had about a 2'' disc.

The other big fish in my tank is a 12'' pacu and a 6'' red tail catfish. I dont think neither of them ate him.

Move the gravel around if he'd still there I'll find it. At that small it could have got eaten so I wouldn't rule it out. Rays are defenseless with out eyes. The Pacific or catfish could have easily eaten its eyes then it after it died. That's a long time without seeing it so it is most likely dead.

damn i was hoping for the best but im doing a water change as we speak so ima go digging and hope i find him

+1. They don't hide long they have to eat. A ray that size can't go that long with out eating.

Red tail cat got him

LOL, is this a real post?????

the pacu probably ate him, if not the RTC did. a 2" ray with those Monsters is not too good of an idea!

X2.. My bet would be on the RTC.. At that size almost any RTC could have eaten him.

yeah, if it's totally gravel, I doubt he'd be hiding completely under it to where you couldn't see him.

Seems likely he was eaten.

Yeah its a real post, Well i didnt find him so that stinks. My brother insisted i got a stingray but i didnt wanna spend $70 on him cause i didnt know anything about stingrays, lesson learned.

Stingrays require a LOT of special knowledge and care. And your RTC will require a bit of the former and a LOT of the latter.

That's why, even though I spend nearly all my disposable income on fishkeeping, I don't keep either of these at present.

Hope you've got a big home ready for that cat.
