Mistaken identity

Has anyone else had their eel take a bite on your finger while hand feeding nightcrawlers? My 18"er has done this a couple of times and although it really doesn't hurt, it deffinitely catches me off guard. I've learned not to jerk my hand away, too. The first time it happened I jerked and my eel almost rocketed out of the tank. They can really book when they want/need to.

yes mine old 19" did it when i fed him. And now he with his new owner doing it again.

Not yet... but one of these days one of my 3 will get me I'm sure. though when they where little more then once did one suck at my finger investigating it, so maybe not. tbh more worried about my FL gar tagging me.. he's gotten curious as to my hand-feeding of the eels lately.
