So i have an assortment of cichlids (CA and African). Been told this woukd make fish uncomfortable due to the ph differences but I split the fiffediffe and the fish seem to be the healthiest group of fish I have ever had. Anyone else have a set up similar.

Welcome aboard

That's true about ph but you also have to consider the aggression level of Cichlid species.

Yeah it was a little troublesome at first, the kenyii have been incredibly docile, the yellow lab can be a pain sometimes. The biggest issue I had were the Oscar and the Mayan. Once I got some more rocks in there and driftwood they have all gotten along, no nipping of fighting at all.

I've also noticed frequent deco changes or just switching it up a lot helps. I think it helps with territorial issues since their claimed spots don't stay long

Best of luck to you, that mayan is a beautiful fish, but once fully grown they can be a real handful. Would probably keep an eye on it as it gets bigger.

Thanks, they are getting separated soon. The Africans are staying in this tank and the Oscar, Mayan, pbass, asian upside-down, feather fin, and pleco are going into a much bigger tank
