Right now I have 4 1" rbp in a 6 gallon tank. I plan to move them to a 75 but i have to wait a few weeks more. I have 2 6" oscars, a 4" red terror and a 3" midas and 2 3" GTS in my 120 g. my rbp are only 1-1.5" dollar size. If i put in with the above tankmates, will they get eaten? if not, will they kill the cichilids? can they stay together for long?

I put a Kenyi in with three RB's for a while and they seemed fine for a while. Eventually they started chasing each other around a lot, and the RB's managed to nip his dorsal fin, pretty good, too. These RB's were around 5-6" though. Those oscars would probably cause a lot of trouble. You may get lucky if you wait til the RB's are a little bigger, but I would say it's probably not a good idea in the long term.

i wouldn't risk i had oscars between 6-7 " and rbp between 2 maybe 2,5" and after 30 minutes i got only 3 of 6 piranhas oscars just ate them

I have a 75g with 5- 3" red bellies, 1- 2.5" jewel, 1- 2.5" pseudotropheus zebra, and a 3.5" red devil. The zebra dominates the tank followed by the red devil and the jewel. When I first put them together the cichlids chased the RB. The cichlids got used to the quick RB and now the cichlids are not any more aggressive towards the RB than they should be. In other words the cichlids are coexisting with the piranhas. I think RB can be kept with some species of aggressive cichlids, Not all but some.

The O's will look at them like baby silver dollars with teeth and eat them as soon as you put them in the water........If they do manage to survive somehow by hiding and get a little larger, eventually they will kill the cichlids......Just not a good idea.

I have 2 1" convicts in with my manueli. they have lasted about a month so far but you will loose some every now and then seeing as how i started out with 3 convicts
