Something happened about a month ago thats a little bit hard to explain, i visited a LFS that i never visited before and as i checked out the stock i saw a tank full of Buttikoferi, i have always been attracted to this fish but i didnt think i would ever see any at a LFS i knew i could probably purchase some on the net but i already had my stock in place, I just couldnt let this opportunity pass, i picked up 4 juvinile's about 2 - 3 inches and at that point i knew i would be making a large adjustment in my stock, i put my featae, red devil, green severum, salvini in my smaller tank (55gal) i knew it was only a temporary solution something else needed to be done, now i have my 125 currently stocked with 6 little butti's (i got 2 more to add) along with a feather fin catfish nothing else is in the tank and it looks wonderful. now the 55 gallon that was stocked with fish that get way to big for this situation. i was on youtube just checking videos of fish and i happened on this one video that had african rift cichlids on it and it was just beautiful, i knew my solution, i could fit quite a few of those awsomely colored fish in a 55 and not have a space issue, in the mean while my tank would pop with activity it would no longer look stagnant and dull, so i did it, i arranged for the lfs to take the remaining fish i had and i would start loading my new stock of african rift cichlids, its turning out to be really nice, i have 9 small individuals and i plan on adding about 5 or 10 more in the next week or two, i just need to make sure i get the most beautiful i can find, although i am sad i got rid of the fish i really liked so much, i think i did the right thing because the situation has become much better, i have a viberant tank on one side and the butti's i always wanted on the other. it ended up a bitter sweet soultion, but in the end i think i am happier now than before..
