I currently have two adult red bellies in 125G. I had the P's since they were fry's and im gonna be upgrading to a bigger aquarium soon, so the question I need some guidence on
is can you mix adult piranhas and juvenile piranhas together without the adults harming them?
thanks.

Imo no! If they can fit in their mouths they will be gobbled up, id say a safe rule of thumb is 2/3 the size of what u already have. I have 5 in my shoal and one of them is 4.5-5" the others about 6-6.5" and they used too try and kill him , nowadays its not so bad. Just be careful!
U could atleast try a divider since ur tank can hold atleast 6 adults!
no it would just endup being exspencive food for the larger reds. when I had my shole I lost one and tryed replacing him. took me forever to find a petshop around here that have larger sized reds. payed $50 right size and everything, just for the others to beat him up. he sits in a solo tank by himself with both eyes popped and eatend.
if your upgrading than why dont you keep the two larger ones in the tank there in now and put the new fri in the larger tank. and maybe once ther older they can be mixed
A rule of thumb when adding new piranhas to a pre-existing shoal: Take ALL fish out of the tank (or at least block them off), re-arrange your decor, THEN add all of the fish at once. Your fish was attacked because it was intruding on pre-existing territories. Most animals are really touchy like that.
the good thing is rbp grow relatively quick at first so if u really wanted you could grow some out pretty quickly. the one thing i learned from keeping rbp was neved add anything to an established tank except food. however if you remove the fish, rearrange the tank, add new fish, then return the first rbp after a couple hrs it has a million times better success rate.

I'm not super experiences but cautiously I wouldn't add anything that would fit comfortable in the adults mouth. I would make sure that they are basically same size even if I had to check a few local stores until I found one
