i was thinking about mixing any arro with some cichlids. I have a 6x2x1(6 ft long 2 ft high 1 foot across) and i have 5 africans 2 south americans, and 1 guppy. what's your guys' stand on it?

Dude, your guppy will definitely be devoured... might last a few minutes while the aro get acclimated. Then the cichlids.... depends what size, but I'm sure they'll eventually become dinner. Aros actually do well in community tanks as long as the tankmates are adequately sized.....

No mixing of any arowana in your tank. Way to small to house any arowana for more then just a few months. Current tank occupants would not allow for a baby arowana

It's not clear what's in your tank.
Usually in a large tank, they could well co exist. Again it depends because cichlids are diverse.

Thanks guys :)
im not really attached to my guppie, but she could go in my 10 gal...
my current tank is a 125 gal. If you guys say this is too small, well i just dont have the money to upgrade it right now. I do like my cichlids though. their about 2ish inches now. I have 1 male yello lab, 2 male aceis, 2 kenyans (1m, 1f) and 2 turquoise severums (south maerican). All except the severum's get to about 4 inches. the severums get about 8-10.

The 1ft width is not big enough as already stated above so unless you can get a lot bigger tank i wouldnt consider an arowana at all.

1 ft is not enough for a big aro to even turn around ! A good tank for aro should be 3 ft wide.

I missed the width dimension, it's true you need good sized width.

An adult aro would be making "3 point turns" if the width is not enough. This looks very awkward, and the aro is such a graceful swimmer, turning should be as natural as possible otherwise the viewer would be uncomfortable (not just the fish).
