i have a peacock bass and a largemouth bass in my 55 gallon growout
i was just planing on keeping the pbass in theyre but i caught this lmb
theyre both an inch the peacock bass being a quarter of an inch more
my question is will they be ok together while they are small?
the peacock bass could kill the lmb if he wanted because he has a size advantage but thes more peacefull and the lmb is sorta aggresive
im seeing small signs of aggresion
mostly teritorial though
no bitting just sorta feding of

Keep an eye on them.
This situation is always dependent on the actual specimens in place.
They could be aggressive or not.

congrats! ive always wanted to keep a pbass and an lmb. problem is i dont have the resources to house a pbass whereas i do an lmb. have a 4 in long one right now on cichlid pellets. you will definetly have some trouble in the future because pbass no doubt grow faster than lmb and dont be suprised if the pbass eats the lmb in a month or two. lmb are usually more mellow unless territorial, which you pointed out. they should be fine together at this age, however if you want to keep a largemouth id get one about 150% bigger than the pbass right now so that its not likely to eat the pbass and the lmb has more time before the pbass endangers him. hope this helps

I have a p-bass an oscar and a largemouth in the same tank right now and if it wasnt for the oscar breaking the fights between the two bass I think the p-bass would be dead. My p-bass usually has shredded fins...

Starve the LMB and you'll see what happens to the PBASS lol I dont care if he has a size advantage... I say the LMB would woop the Pbass easy. You cant stop the Native Muscle!:headbang2

If you ever get fed up with the fighting, just throw in a big RTC in the tank and there wont be anyone in the tank the next morning.

the point of the thread is
tryimng to avoid killing my fish
not buying other fish to eat them and starting fights

thanks guys

i think people area comparing a p bass growth rate at around 80* to a LMB growth rate at around 70* a lmb can keep up with a pbass growth rate at 80* no problem, i keep LMB and pbass together with no problems between them so far.
