hello i have a 230g tank
and im wondering if i can mix a aurantimaculata with a bleheri...
without them killing each other!

they have enouch hiding places and shelther undernead the floating plants

the tankmates are 4 green sunfish and 1 pumpkinseed
the aurantimaculata is accepted in the tank and non of them are fighting

im wondering if i can put in another snakehead...
bleheri maybe

what do you guys think?

No i wouldn't risk it for even a week, Channa aurantimaculata grow double the size, i beleive although not actually kept aurantimaculata, they can be pretty tough going,

try to source a nice pair mind and keep them alone in the tank,

you know bleheris grow to 6" and aurantis to 17" right....???

in any case, there aren't any other fish i would keep with an aruanti, they can get really aggressive + they look best in a species only tank

Nothing.
Aurantis are sub-tropical also, so apart from them killing most fish you would want to keep with them, the temperature is not suitable for most fish too!

the temp range of my auranti is 22-28 and i kept him on 20 for half a year
my sunfish are smaller then him but defentetly rule the tank
so im not that afraid of him killing one of my fish.

@crhonic i did not know that..
must be confused with some other snakehead..

but my main question is what type of snakehead can i keep with my auranti
i see loads of people keep more then one and more then one speacies of snakehead in a tank so it should be poseble..

annyone surgestions

Channa Bleheri are what we call dwarf snakeheads, they rarely ever grow more than 10". Those other people you've seen with multiple snakeheads probably put them together from a very young age. Wouldn't suggest it with you though.

i was thinking of buying a pleurophthalma
as they grow the same lenght
my auranti is around 19-25 cm
so maybe they can get used to eachoter

but know ive read the speacies sticky
maybe its best to keep him as the only snakehead in the tank..

altho he looks a bit sad :P
he is verry active but i wonder if he might be happyer if he has another snakehead in the tank

pleuros are tropical fish and if the auranti doesn't kill it then the temperature will

just keep a bunch of aurantis, there aren't really any other compatible snakeheads you can keep with it
