Is this possible?
I read that if I do 1 tbs of salt to every 10 gallon I should fine
It will disrupt the breeding but that all all the other fish will be ok and stuff
Is this true orrr

Help me out :)??

1 tbs per 10 gallons is not brackish, my brackish tank has 28 tablespoons of marine salt per 10 gallons as of now.
brackish fish require too much salt to be healthy than freshwater will tolerate

:iagree:

i have to agree with the above, the variant of brackish water is big too, from weak to very strong brackish.
Maybe you could tell us what you are keeping in the tank and exactly what you are trying to achive. we will be able to understand what you need and help you out.

Adding salt to freshwater? How does that not just equal brackish?

ALL WATER has some amount of salt concentration (for instance, if you drink water with NO salt (distilled water) you can die from electrolyte dilution!) Intuitively, we know freshwater has considerably less salt than saltwater :headbang2

well i wanted to put some knight gobys into my tank. i currently have a 60g. i have 2 serviums and a catfish (very small) a feather fin cat and a silver dollar. i have some clown loaches and ghats about it so i got some room. but i was just wondering if they will be ok sincce i read that they are more brackish then they are freshwater i had a dragon fish in my tank and there was nothing wrong with him he lived for over a year with no problems so should i expect the same more the less

No, your scaleless fish will not tolerate the amount of salt your gobies will even notice. Also, you need marine salt for true brackish. Kosher salt will increase hardness but not provide the other minerals true brackish fish prefer.

Just give the gobies their own tank.

Well believe it or not Knight gobies (there are several species that look extremely similar but are all known as Knight gobies) are found in fresh water as well as very weak brackish water, they just seem to last and do better in brackish water in aquaria just like Mollys do.
As stated I would would not turn the tank brackish with the other fish listed they woulkd not like it at all.
