Right now I have a 40 gallon tank im about to start up with some small catfish. This will be i guess my "growing" tank, to raise the catfish till they are big enough to be put into a 125-150 i will also be buying shortly. I wanted to get these catfish: asain red tail, silver tip shark, sun cat, pictus, upside-down cat, as these are commonly available at my lfs. They are all about the same size right now, would this be ok?

The RTC will outgrow a 40 gal in a matter of months and may eat some of the others long b4 that.

well, asian red tails grow to two feet long, half the size of the SA ones. if you want to keep all those cats of yours together as adults, you're going to need quite a large aquarium, definetly bigger than 150Gs. once the sun and the red tail get huge, they'll eat you pictuses and your upside down cats.

Well as far as outgrowing the 150g, thats ok because then He will go into the store which i work at's large fish tank. I was refering to the asian red tail in the post, but i if i wanted to get the sa red tail, are they still compatable as long as they are the same size?

hey

im pretty sure that that many of those beasts will be over stocking your 150.

if any one can shed a little light on that it would be appriciated as it may sole my 300g dilema.

they wouldn't be the same size for long... SARTCs get to be four feet long, and can eat something half their size from what i've heard.
