mixing Channa species

Can you mix different species of Channa? I always assumes you couldn't but could be wrong

Hi,yes its possible with a few species ,personally I prefer a species tank!

yes you can,but as stated not many species,and beleive it or not i found the mid sized to be best for this, i have parachanna obscura/channa pleuro/channa marulis togther,will post there pictures in a moment in the photo section of this section...

I also managed it with channa sp assam and channa pulchra but did not keep them together until adulthood, the sp assams were adults but pulchra were juvi adults

What about Channa panaw? Mines 7-8"..love him to bits but would jump at the chance to add soemthing different. Is this possible?

I would not go below size ratio of 3-4th smaller than the size of the channa, birchirs make for good channa tankmates, but it is a case of trail and error

its in with some Bichirs and Tigerfish (Dats)-just fancied another Channa if possible

could try something like sp assam, however panaw are subtropical as are sp assams
