I have 2 clowns that are about 5 or 6 inches long and am wanting to increase my pack size. (I got the 2 before i new they needed a bigger group) They are in a 75 gal, but I am getting ready to move them into a 150 gal. My question is can i get some more 2 inch (all I can find) loaches to put with them? Will they form a pack with the bigger ones?

can you place the small ones in the 75 for a while and the big ones in the 150? That way you can power feed the little ones and change lots of water...they should get to 4" fairly quickly...

What else is going into the tank? Where in Mo are you at?

My tank is at work in my office and i'm replacing the 75 with the 150. I have a school of silver dollars, rosy barbs and a 5 inch front.
I'm about 60 miles N. of Columbia.

Loaches, right? :screwy:

They'll be fine with different sized loaches. I have kept 2'' loaches with 7'' loaches with no problem. ;)

I have no issues getting 2.5" loaches to 4" in less than a year....
now my 8" and 10" CL babies just seemed to have stopped growing......

I don't see why mixing two differnt shoals of loaches would be an issue. I believe that they would form a new shoal together. I have 10 loaches of different sizes that I bought at different times. 1st purchase was 1 loach, few weeks later I bought 2 more, then 4 months later I bought 7 more. I didn't notice any problems of them mixing together. In fact, I now have no idea which one I got first and which ones were purchased last.

Thanks guys i'm going to get about 4 more.
