I have two rbp and a pleco that will soon be living in a 55g tank. right now there only about two inch so im keeping them in a 10g. When I move them to the big tank for the first few months they will be rather hard to spot because of there size so I was wondering about some tank mates. so far they have been getting along great with the pleco that I added a month ago. I know that pirahnas like to bite the fins off other fish kept with them so what about a cray fish or even a turtle? I was just wondering if it could work? any sujestions any one?

As far as the turtle is concerned, that can go either way, but I doubt either good. Either the turtle will end up catching/eating the piranha, or vise versa. Every once in awhile, we put a crayfish in the Piranha tank to help keep it a little cleaner (they are great scavangers), but eventually, (a couple months) the piranha got him and ate him up. I keep Raphael Cats with my Piranha. They never bother each other. If you like them, you could go that route.

no you cannot keep anything with piranha's long term. and you need to get 1 more red belly. to even out the aggression.
also those reds will grow out of that 55 gal in a year... you would be better with a 75gal, for the added width

crayfish are a treat for my red bellies, and if i put our red sliders in with them my son would kill me !

Yeah you could try the Crays, they would help clean up until they were caught. Especially after each molt, they are very vulnerable. The turtle on the other hand I have never seen RBP's w/ turtles I wouldnt risk it.

turtles end up missing tails and parts of there feet first then they will get chomped.dont do turtles!crays are definetly good as cleaners and food.raphael catfish also good they only come out at night to clean up.my pleco punks my rbps..... until they get tired of him.:)gl and add to your shoul as less numbers=skiddish fish!!

The last two cray fish I put with my Piranha they did not make is to the bottom
"NO RELAY"
lol. my cray made it 30 seconds

the only thing that you could even try would be a much larger fish that wont eat the P's. But that would only work while they are small. I would just say put them in the 55 for now and get some more while you search for a 125
