Hey

I am currently getting ready to upgrade my 55g reef tank to my 135g tank with a 40g sump. In my current tank I have aprox 60lbs of crushed coral and I am planning on getting about the same amount of aragonite and mix the 2 together for my 135g tank. Is this suitable or should I just scape the
CC and go all aragonite. My 55 is running excellent and like to carry as much benificial bacteria and what not over to the new set up. It's gonna be a slow process as I want the cycling to be complete before I start mixing and transferring

I would go with a full aragonite landscape. That is just my personal preference though as i like the look. If that's the case with you as well than do that and to speed up your biological add like 1 cup of your old substrate and that should be sufficient.

If you mix two different sized particles, they will shift with time to where the smallest particles go to the bottom and the biggest particles will be on top.

Thanks
Looks Like what I might do is go with full aragonite in main tank now and use a bit of the CC down in my sump tank. No point in mixing it if it will eventually separate and push the CC to the top which looking at it do make sence
