I've got a 5" American Tiger in my 150 gallon and I want to add either Northern Thai Dats (D. undecimradiatus) or New Guinea Dats (D. campbelli) along with it.

Are all Dats compatible? They'd all be about the same size. Which kind would you recommend? I can't afford both...

(Yes, I know that they cannot live in this tank forever, and I have a 300 gallon that will house them when they are large enough. I need to get rid of the Electric Catfish in the 300g first.)

So even if I had 3x Campbelli's to spread the aggression around, you think it wouldn't work?

nope....1 ngt per tank...multiples have tried it including myself.....you can have as many AT, ST, IT and NTT together but only 1 ngt per tank.

True Gangster... long term (1 ngt per tank), once they get over 10 inch, i douby they will tolerate another similar size ngt in same tank.

Short term, if you have enough tigers to spread aggression, u could get away with it.

I am trying this now, 7, 3.5, 3 inch ngt in same tank, with 7 Indos (range 6 to 11 inch) and 1 NTT (8 inch)

Have had 3 NGT's together for bout 4 weeks. Big one been there bout 3 months. No fighting at all, prob due to all other tigers. Bit risky, but i did set up a second tank just in case. I'll update if danger starts to loom however.

I think if you have 3 NGT all same size = fight to death.

I'll go with one. Thanks guys.

good info as im thinking about starting a species tank.
