DOes anyone out there mix thier dats? I can get some 2" to 3" NGT's and was going to get 5 so they grow up with each other. Then I started thinking about getting 2 or 3 NGT's and trying some thinbars or others with them. Any thought's?

People do it, NG's are the most agressive and thin bars are the least aggresive, so there may be some problems there, also NG's are brackish and therfor natrualy exist in different water conditions then thinbars, but many ppl have kept them in freshwater successfully.

There is no right or wrong answer depends on the fishes personalities and the size of the tank.

if you keep 2 NGT together they will kick crap out of each other

more than 4 NGT should be ok thin bars are not as agressive as NGT

1 NGT shouldnt be agressive to the thin bars

I've mixed NGT NTT & ITs together in my old 90 gallon and had no problems

Dats do seem better when kept in groups and grown on together. Although NGT's are brackish.

like stated before my NGT has been in full fresh water for the last 5yrs no problems

i would love to hear from anyone who keeps their NGT in brackish water that thinks theirs is doing better than mine :D

i;ve never had mine in bw. my 12", 10", 6" have always been in fresh and doing great, even the 4x8" i sold are still doing great. although salt helps if u see the "dat disease" coming on. now american aka silver dats might do better in bw, but i've never kept one so i couldn't put my opinion out there. all these experience dat keepers no best though.
T1k- nice NGT

While NG's DO live in brackish waters in there natrual habitat, i guess they can be converted to freshwater pretty successfully. May think about getting one then....
