That's depends on a few things, tank size, species, diet etc. I have a few different sized cichla that eventually I want to be all in same tank. I plan to put the 3 inch in tank first amd let them put some size on them first, to catch up to my 6.5 in brokopondo.

Its usually risky at small sizes. At that size i wouldnt. But when they are larger it can be done...sometimes. I added an 11in bahia w/ a few 18-20in orino's...so far so good.
Ya i agree. Too small. Even with adiquit hiding and tank size. Its a good chance the big fish will kill them. But if you put them in a grow out tank, or out them in with several other small fish youl have a better chance of success.

I wouldn't do it. Even if they don't get eaten they could become less aggressive when they are eating and become slower growing. Power feed them until they are bigger, something like 5" with an 8" or 5" with a 7" would be a lot better. If that doesn't work and the 6" is a bahia I will be there tomorrow to pick him up.
I just aquired 2 7" orino's and after reading this thread was a bit worried about putting them in with my 10" mono's,but after a bit of chasing they are all hanging together and its a very calm atmosphere
