i have a 6" male marbled motoro that i would like to eventually house with my female motoro she is around 12" im curious what would be a safe size difference to mix these two they both eat earth worms and cut shrimp so diet would not be a concern
Honestly he is good to go in with her now, I have a 4inch ray pup all The way up to an 11"female motoro in my tank no problems as long as he is not struggling to get food he will be fine
I found as long as the little ones are getting as much food as they need, the big ones aren't actively trying to breed, and the males are smaller then the females they work fine... its when males start getting aggressive towards small females, or small rays get in the way of big rays that people tend to have issues.. personally I had 2 females and 1 male together since I owned them the male being bigger then one of my females but he was immature.
thanks for the advice its just her in a 250 so i think he should be able to manage to stay out of her way the female i actually "rescued" the guy i got her from had her with a puffer who managed to nip her tail pretty good and took one of her eyes out so the little guy should be able to compete for food as it usually takes her a minute to find it im getting a female marbled pup to go along with them soon and was wanting to use his tank as quarantine tank this should work out well
