Lately I've been wanting to try a Mixed Heros tank. I'd like to have 3 or 4 different type of Severums together in the same tank. Has anyone tried this combination and how well did it work out. I'm thinking Rotkeil, Gold, green and Inidrida (spelling). Thanks.

Any possible problems you'll encounter will more than likely be the result of conspecific aggression that has nothing to do with what actual species they are, but their body shape and colours. Severums are a picky bunch when it comes to keeping multiple in the same tank, at least in my experience.

Honestly I doubt you'll have any problems, but I suggest you be prepared in advance to get rid of runts or hugely dominant specimens as in my experience, if they dislike eachother for more than two weeks to the point of constant cowering and bullying, they'll dislike eachother permanently.

Gold Severums are generally 'softer' when it comes to aggression also, and I believe Rotkiels might be similiar, but we don't have them over here so I couldn't tell you first hand.

i have one green, 2 red shoulder, and 3 mix red shouldered and green in a 210 the only ones that dont get along are the 2 red shoulder, one male one female

Yep. As mentioned before.

Very picky bunch when it comes to fish of similar size and shape (young chocolates, uaru, discus, angels, other sevs etc)

Be prepared to split them up, or divide them (has worked for me in the past) and watch out for cross species breeding. It'll just dilute the gene pool, and none of us want that :)

My Severus and my Efasciatus seem to be getting along fine now after about 3 days, so it can work, but be pro-active about disputes in the tank.

Another few things to watch out for 1. Wilds seem far more aggressive 2. Golds are soft, but get bigger (generally) 3. Feed your greens :D

Best of luck Craggy
