Mixing K1 and hel-x?

Is their any downsides to mixing these media's together?

I'd recommend using one or the other. I use k1 in my mbbf's. I'm sure you could mix the two media types together as long as they are both the floating type media. But it may be slightly harder to fluidize due to the different size and shape.
