So at my job we got in a bunch of south american brown ghost knives and transparent knives. I'm thinking about getting either one or both species but I'm unsure of a few things as info is a bit limited on both.

Would the brown ghost knife have or give issue with the transparent knives? I know transparents prefer to be in groups and with some of the other knifes there is issues of territoriality and the crossing of electrical signals but idk how electrical the transparents are or if there'd be any issues with them. I'm also wondering too how brown ghost knifes do together in groups, I've heard they are less aggressive with each other than the black ghost knife but info on them seems to be scarce.

Anyone who's kept both or either let me know your thoughts and opinions.

Knives have more problems with their own kind. Any knife that can emit a em field will know another knife, with th same, is around. Keep lots of decor/plants etc. Similar to keep a bgk as far as care requirements for both. Keep some hiding spots so the fish can retreat if there's aggression. Be careful of meds and salt. Water has to be clean. Post updates.

I am cohabiting 2 african brown knives, an intolerent species by using plants and 2 hiding spots per fish. They also dont go at each others throats so i dunno. Good luck

what numbers would you recommend? I'm imaging at least 4 transparent knives and 1 or 3 brown ghost? seems like they wouldn't have issues with each other but more issues with their own species (although the transparents like to school from what I can tell from research and observing them)

Maybe go with a bigger group of transparent knives. Thr bigger the group the better

they actually school. I had 9 in A 125. they would all get air one right after the other every once in a while. it was no coincidence.

I heard they do well in groups but, but like discus can have problems with only a few fish.

They have grown about 1.5" or so since i had them and still basically no aggression
