hey guys was wonderin if it was possible to keep a pair of stingrays with a pair arapaimas in my fish tank (measurements in siggy) temporarily until the arapaimas grow large enuf for the pond...will they fight? all will be eating hikari massivores...

What would the sizes of the specimens be?

rays wud be juveniles..around 4-5'' in diameter max...and the arapaimas wud be around 5-6 inches max...

i dont see a problem with it.... arapaima grow quick but i have seen this combo before..... i would probably grow the rays in separate tank then mix them.... pima are greedy when it comes to food....

I had that combo and the pima would sometimes nip at the rays to get their food

You wouldn't be able to keep the pimas in that tank for too long anyway.

Arapaimas aren't that aggresive at all, I reckon it ok. But I guess every fish is different, trying with motoros would be a wise pick.

pima are not really aggressive fish... but they will easily out compete the rays for food and will grow 100x faster than the rays..... motoro would be a great starting point and allow the leo's to get larger and fatter...
