I love seeing large fish mixed with small fish, sometimes tiny fish. I've just had an idea (whilst reading the Blue Botia thread) we've all seen pictures of 2" CL's saddled up next to 6"+ CL's well I have some huge CL's and I've always loved Botia Sidthimunki so Ive decided to stick 3 little Sid's in there, I'm only going for 3 at the moment as my CL's eat mussels bigger than them and Ive also got some little Dats in there that may want to taste the Sids. The smallest fish in there currently is a 1.5" Alto Compressiceps that managed to evade me, he's fine and h=nothing looks twice at it.

A contriversial mix I know, personally I think I/They will get away with it....

Expensive choice for fish food.

It's only a matter of time before the dats and com eat them. I'd suggest separating the sids. Not worth letting them disappear to others' stomachs.

Hi Ewurm nice to meet you, Ive been reading your blogs and found them really interesting and imformative. I wish I was more PC/Camera literate then I could take some pics of CL's you guys would love them

It maybe an expensive experiment but one that I feel quite keen to try. If 1 of the 3 gets eaten I will get the other 2 straight away. But I hinestly feel that they will be fine, predators only hunt something they dont recognise something that just swims by and being opportunistic they eat it. In my experience (with malawis) if the babies survive for a week in the rocks they generally survive into adulthood, this is because the larger fish dont see them as prey because they get used to seeing them in feild of vision frequently. It is this theory combined with the stealth, speed and agility of the Sidi's that will reign through.

The Sid's have already taken the advantage and I havent even put them in. Mysteriously I lost 5 of my 8 Dats today 4 IT & 1 AT leaving me 3 2.5" IT and 1 10" Thin Bar which is reserved for a new home shortley.

All the other fish are fine!
