Hello, I'm in the process of setting up a Madegascar cichlid tank and can't decide between the Pin stripe Damba or the Polleni small spot so I'm wondering if I can do both? The tank is a 90 gallon and the fish will be between 2.5 inches and 3.5. I will probably move them into a 125 in about 6 months but for now they will go into the 90 gallon. Any suggestions or would you just get 1 or the other? I have never set of a madegascar tank before. I have a sand substrate and driftwood through out the tank.

I would not mix those two species . Paratilapia grow considerably faster than Paretroplus . Paratilapia pair off and spawn at a younger age as well....

If you want to do both I would suggest you to keep only a single polleni and at least 6 menarambo as they tend to pick on each other. If you have a seperate tank for the polleni in case it gets aggressive, then I think you should definitely try it.
