I currently have a 75g with a juvenile blood parrot, geo, severum, and I added some Africans. I have had no aggro problems at all. In fact, everyone gets along well. The Ph is 8.3 and all is active and colorful. I've been told, " you cant do it, its not fair to the parrot and severum" Everybody wants to cry about something. These guys have got along for the past 2 months just fine. No physical problems either. In fact, my parrot no longer hides all day long. He's out and about with the red sev all day. The geo may grow out though and I still may look for a new home for the new worlds. Waddya guys think?

personally i dont like mixing fish from different parts of the world. but thats just me

You can do it to an extent (Yes, I have a few American cichlids in my African tank).

However, did you get these fish as fry? Are they still fry? It's a different story when they become mature adults.

Just my 2 cents

I've seen and read about New World and Rift Lake Cichlids co-exisiting just fine.
Alot has to do with species you use. I personnaly only keep Rift lake cichlids - I've had New worlds in the recent past and I'm pretty much done with them.

They are all pretty much juveniles. each knows their pecking order and they all obey it. Pretty wild to watch it though. My geo is pretty big. They are very respectful of him, though he would never touch anybody. Another question....10 africans, 1 blood parrot, Red Sev, Geo in a 70g overstocked??? Some other idiot replied to a vid I posted and flipped saying you're overstocked and everythings going to die with HITH.

I wouldn't call it a success until the mbuna reach maturity and things are still going well. Your fish are still pretty young. I think the abs would work fine and maybe some of the others. But you have an auratus in there and some red zebras. Auratus are just about as aggressive as mbuna can get and zed zebras can be terrors as well. Just so you know.
Also how are you dealing with the diet differences?
Glad things are going well so far.

the geo will need a much lower ph, like in the low 6's. your mbunas will need to eat more vegetation than your new world stuff.

The auratus are getting nasty already. They are the only ones causing trouble. I may rehome them if they tend to get too crazy. In rtegards to the Geo, I am not sure why, but he is doing awesome. I was going to give him to my brothers law office tank. But, he is healthy as could be. I was actually very surprised. If I notice anything out of the ordinary with him, I will relocate him to my brothers tank. As he gets larger I am going to have to anyway. Thank you guys for your replies. I am still learning about Africans. I really dig 'em though!

I will also try to rehome through MFK before sending to family.
