i have the chance of geting my hands on two obscura's but they will have to go in with my bleheri, is this a good idea or not,,the wife will throw a benny if i open yet another tank

How big are they?cos recently, i mix my Panaw about 7-8cm each and a 1 Gachua 10cm, my Gachua beat up those panaw quite brutally, so i have to seperate them, i put my gachua in my water lily pond for a while until i get my new display.

I would say not to mix them. The bleheri wouldn't stand a chance living with the obscuras. Better to keep the bleheri alone and seperated. Even the two obscuras together, you may have problems... I'm thinking you most likely will?? :uhoh:

Explain this to your wife, or if not... a dozen roses always helps?!! :D Good luck! ;)

and obscura is a tropical species whereas bleheri is subtropical and requers and cooling period in the winter

i wouldn't recommend tat combi... obscuras are known 2 be very aggressive 2 other fishes apart from it's own obscura family species...

obscura will grow faster and bigger not a good idea in my book temperature range 79 to 82f. for obscura Bleheri 72-82˚ so that would not be a problem as you know SH can live in extream temps and water conditions even though not a good idea the big problem is food well i think your Bleheri will be it dinner that is;)
