Hey everyone! I was wondering what everyones opinions would be on me mixing my 5 star general cichlid with my 2 Electric Blue Jack Dempseys, 1 regular and my Firemouth cichlid in a 125 gallon... currently the 5 star is in his own tank of 30 gallons and has been there for 2 yrs. He attacks anything and everything he can including the 10 inch pleco with him. He is about 5-6 inches long... The jacks are about the same size and I was thinking of consolidating them to free up my 30 gallon for some silver dollars I have that are with my flowerhorn who is going to outgrow them soon... Will they fight or do you think the 5 star will be overwhelmed by all the new tank mates? The Jacks and firemouth dont fight at all as they have grown up together with plenty of room however the 5 star is an f1 nasty mean guy with an attitude and hates moving objects, also he is hard to feed as he WILL NOT eat pelleted food, never has for some reason... Let me know! Thanks in advance for the opinions!:screwy:

I don't like to mix old worlds and new worlds. In your situation, I'd be worried the 5 star will kick the crap out of the EBJDs.

Seems to me you've answered your own question.

Putting the silver dollars in the 125 is your best option.

that 5 star general will have to be on his own now. It will eradicate the dempseys and fire mouth. I guess you could mix the general with some large mbuna with a lot of hiding spots but as for the fish you have not going to work out.

Well I put him in the tank already and he just swims around and tries to bully the irredescent shark... The five star is very hard to feed and will not eat pellets only frozen foods and I might be just taking him to the LFS for some credit. The silver dollars were with a flowerhorn who is now in with the others as well. Didnt wanna do this but might be moving and need to get some tanks tore down. The silver dollars are with the firemouth now. The Jacks and flower horn get along fine and swim together and everything. Not sure if the flowerhorns been fighting with the five star though cuz he's lost some scales and appears to have a little bit of frayed fins so 5 star is going away... THANKS EVERYONE!
