Hey all, I recently got a group of 4 geophagus "surinamensis" from a reputable fish farm down in Florida. I know theyre most likely not True surinamensis but they look beautiful anyways. I'm also looking to get another order in of a group of F1 geophagus winemilleri and was wondering if it's better to just stick with one type of specie or will two different groups be alright. They will be in a growout tank and than be put in a monster tank next year. I'm fairly new to geos so don't have a lot of knowledge on if they would tend to cross breed or if they would just stick to their own kind. Any advice would be great. If it's best to stick to just one kind than ill just order another group of "surinamensis".

I currently have in my 335 gallon

4 Red Head Geo's
4 Abalios
4 Dicrozosters

and they are good

I know I was thinking of adding some Columbian Rams and some other fish.

I ended up just sticking with specie of geophagus. I got a group of 6 winemilleri and they will go along with a group of f1 gymnogeophagus balzanii Rio Uruguay and possibly a group of f1 true parrots.

That would look awesome, love Hoplarchus Psittacus and Winemilleri. A Brasiliensis would look great in that group too, although I've heard they prefer colder waters than the parrots. There are some collection points where they are found in warmer waters but the location is escaping me.
