mixing sand and gravel

i have roughly 60-70 lbs of pool sand in my 125 (which isnt enough anyways) and i want a more natural look. would it work well if i put a 50 pound bag of gravel in there? will this make it look bad?

The gravel will end up at the top, so don't use very much. It will look fine though, my 75 was like that for a while until I switched to black sand.

You could use PFS on 2/3 of the bottom then use the gravel on the rest with the gravel a little deeper. Was thinking of doing this but using pea stone gravel substrate. Might look pretty cool.

this is going to be pea gravel that i am using as well. i think it may work if i add about half of a bag of pea gravel in there then my sand will still show through.

the gravel ALWAYS ends up on top.. it looks nice.. but i forgot how much unfun cleaning gravel is..

kinda like this. I like it. I wanted the natural look as well.
