I have a tank with black sand (Tahitian Moon) and it seems a little too dark. I've been thinking about mixing in some good old pool filter sand. But of course if I do it, there will be no turning back.

I've seen it in Sean's tank and it looked really good. I was wondering if anybody else can share some pictures?

Thanks in advance :)

Hey Peter...I have been mixing the 2 for several yrs now for the exact same reason. I think this mixture is 4 20lb bags tahitian, 2 50 lb bags of PFS.

The RTM pic is from around 2008 and the other 2 are from last month. It hasnt lost any of its color in that time period.

No worries man. Im thinking of adding 1 more bag of black to get it just a bit darker for when I move the istlanum to the 75 and the bichirs to the 265 in a few months.

I don't have any good substrate pics but I have been mixing them as well for a while now and love it. I have a little more PFS in my tanks I really like the look of the two together.

Here is black and PFS mixed.
