Hello everyone. I have 4 adult 7" red bellied piranha that I got from someone that was getting rid of them. I have them in a 50 gallon tank right now, but I know the are not happy. I am in the process of putting together a 100 gallon long (6 feet) planted tank for them. I would like to add some more once they move, preferably some juvies. My question is, will the adults kill the younger fish And do I have to stick to the same species? If not, what other piranha species s compatible with RBP?

Thanks all!

They may eat them if they're too small. Maybe use the 50 as a grow out before you add them. There's always a chance for someone to get eaten but its ok to mix pygos.

i wouldn't put anything smaller then 4-5 inches with a 7 incher but it doesn't take very long to grow them out that big, you'd just need a grow out tank as suggested above
