One of my wc moba mommas dropped her tube on Sunday. I fed her and the rest of the tank Hikari frozen mysis which usually sparks a spawn. When I got home from work last night...........BAM........she was holding a mouthful.

I've attached a video below of the new momma alongwith some of her tankmates which includes my wc mobas, juvie mobas and some moba fry in one of my floating nurseries. Sorry for the background noise..........that's my tv blaring in my den where my 180g is.

what are the dimensions of your tank and how many gallons. sweet setup.

did you make the floating nurseies yourself? what did you use?

You can use sterilite or rubbermaid containers. The step-by-step on how to make one can be found at:

I have 3 that I use for different size moba fry and juvies that aren't quite ready to join the big boys and girls.

toehead, my tank is a 180g Oceanic. the dimensions are 6x2x2.

How many front are there in that tank

I have 9 wc mobas (3m/6f), 6 F1 mobas a little over a year old, 2 F1 mobas about 4 mos old......in my 180g's general population.

In my diy floating nurseries I have 2 F1 mobas about 6 mos old and in a separate nursery I have 10 F1 moba fry about 1" long.

In addition to the mobas I have 3 bristlenose plecos, 1 african leopard eel and 1 african orange spotted eel.

I do 50% weekly water changes, add cichlid buffer and declorinator. I don't overfeed.

My filtration is dual 2217 eheims. To keep my CaribSea aragonite sand spotless, I run 2 6080 Tunze Streams 4x daily for 15 minute cycles. They create enough current/turbulence to move the fish poop and an smaller pieces of uneaten food toward my 2217's located at opposite ends of the tank.

My goal is to keep 17 mobas total (those not in the floating nurseries). The 8 F1's will be my future breeding stock. I plan to move this colony to a larger 400g custom tank......that's 24 mos down the road though.

Thanks for all the compliments and comments!!!!!!
