These are wild-collected Cyphotilapia gibberosa from the M'Toto/Moba region of The Democratic Republic of the Congo (Zaire). Thought some of you would like to see them ;)
Enjoy :D

I have never heard of the Gibberosa. I assume a very close relative to the Frontosa. Do you anticipate many different strains being classified into new species?

very nice Brian.. learn something everyday ;)

Cyphotilapia genus has two species in it. Cyphotilapia gibberosa and Cyphotilapia frontosa. Gibbs have 6 stripes in general and Fronts have 7. All are commonly called "Frontosa" as a common name though.

you can read more about the distiinction here: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/frontosa_variant_map.php

Those are nice Moba. I keep mobas myself and consider them and the similar localities to be the nicest. Deep blues and purples, less white and pure blacks...
