southbend, in
anyone with a indoor pond having moisture problems?

i been running a dehumidifier and my humidity is at 55 but my windows are covered in moisture

any advise?

Insulate the windows! Styrofoam works great!

Lets see......hmmmm.......

Moisture on the inside and cold air on the outside. Perfect scenario for condensation to form!

4 choices

1) Double pane windows or insulate the ones that get wet with condensation with styrofoam (yes, the ones on your house!)

2) Get rid of the cause of the moisture or at least reduce it by keeping the pond covered if possible

3) Increase ventilation to get rid of the moisture

4) Larger humidifier

Try a fan to move the air around more..

I though air, moisture, wood/drywall was the formula for mold? Take one away and you cure the problem. Can you show a pic of a window insulated with styrofoam.

^ you are very right. mold = bad times for you and your home... never heard of insulating a window...

use a larger dehumidifier, it also has the added benefit of creating more heat, i rely mostly on my dehumidifier to heat my 2 300gal rubbermaids.
