both stay small:
p. mokelembembe- 14"
p. ansorgii- 11"

Where did you get that from?

I've seen pictures of ansorgii's well over 30"

I agree, most of the P.ansorgii that were originally brought in and observed were all juveniles! They are indeed one of the larger polys, growing to 30"+ in the wild and probably at least 24"+ in aquariums!

Are you sure that you aren't thinking of p. teugelsi or p. bichir bichir? Maybe I'm wrong because I never owned one, but from all the websites I've seen, they say 11".
Do a google search, all I see are small ones and the first 5 websites all say 11".

Yeah Ansorgii's get pretty big. Like Endli or Congicus size. I'd say around the 24"-25" range. Also Tsugeli grow to be rather long as well. They aren't as filled out as an Ansorgii or Endli, but most of the ones I've seen are around 19"-20" long. The Mokelembembe will stay aroung 14" though.

I'm positive because I know how to ID an ansorgii. Those sites are based on old info as mentioned already.

Ansorgiis go over 30"... the specimen that was studied at 11" was a juvenile. Old info.. Ever see the pic of a japanese guy near a pond with an arm sized bichir? That one is ansorgii.

Ansorgii's do get upwards of 24 inches. Plus, Toyin has them for sale at 17", and I am going to guess that they are no where near full grown.

I guess that I have to read up some more recent articles then, thanks for the info.
I have never even seen an ansorgii before-you have the experience, and you're right.
Maybe now I'll buy an ansorgii because they have a large potential size.:naughty:

Can you please direct me to a link with more recent information? I'm having trouble finding a reliable-looking source.
