mold growing on my live rock!!???

i just started a small saltwater tank about a week ago and i have mold growing on the live rock. im scared it has died, but i am hoping someone can tell me that is not the case since i spent a ton of money on it

I have never heard of mold growing in saltwater, it is probably some sort of algae. Sponges can look a bit like mold, but they grow very slowly.

I wouldn't be too concerned, I've got all kinds of stuff growing on my live rock, the only real problem is hair or bubble algae.

at the risk of sounding ignorant, what does hair and bubble algae resemble? and thanks for relieving my worries a little
