So I picked up some mollies, LFS had them on sale due to overstock. The fry are meatier that's why I decided to go with them.

I picked up a gold sailfin male, two dalmatian Females, and two black females. One Black molly already looks like she's holding.

The only prob seems to be one of the female dalmatians is harassing all the other fish even the male. She runs around having little "tail whipping" contests with everyone.

I've never heard of an aggro molly before, question is do you think her aggression will stop the others from breeding or not? She seems to focus on the other dalm. and the male molly. I know alot of fish won't breed if they're stressed. Thanks in advance.

Maybe she's not getting enough attention. lol

nope mollies breed stupidly. like guppies. mollies are silly. buy frontosa then ull be rolling in money

breed cons for feeders.... fronts are deffinatly the moneymakers right now... ebjd are right there... dont breed fish for money it takes the fun out i personally donate a lot of my stock to local breeders/lfs i just like haveing quality fish in the area for people to choose...

Hmmm, might try that. My RD ate my last pair of cons a few years ago.

The Mollies are holding up pretty well though, no breeding and the black ones are gone. They died during a power outtage.

Well.......my project was not in vain! I've got a preg molly. noticed something weird though. My two dalm. mollies are both MALE!

Question is the gonopoduim in livebearers is a tube right? My dals have the ability to uncurl theirs into a normal anal fin and then roll it back up into a tube.

mollies are good for ponds all year around. they provide food for other fish. mollies wont kill each other so dont worry about aggresion IMO

Mollies are a wonderful feeder, get some more females and you should be fine. I find convicts can be a bit bony depending on what you're feeding them to. If you add aquarium salts to the water, they are a bit happier. I've seen them live in full salt water also. Give them time and you'll have masses of them. :)
