the LFS by ours has a few of them in stock... are they reef safe. google says most cowries are omnivorous, so they can prey on corals. does anyone have them in thier tanks. i dont have many corals, but i like the ones i have so i thought id ask before i buy and they eat them.
i have had a bit of a hair algae bloom in the past week... the tank had been neglected somewhat, as the puffer had been in QT after a hogfish i was given showed signs of whitespot, and then died. so i want something to help me get back on track with my gardening.
ollie (the Green Spotted Puffer) is back in the tank now so its all good. i dont think he would bother the cowries. i have 3-4 hitchhiker nassarius* snails in there, starfish, and abalones. he hasnt bothered any of them yet, or my corals. so they would be good for a while (he is a puffer after all). and if/when he did decide to take a bite, they are only cheap. are they worth a shot?
